The "Story of the Bench" photography contest, in which 5 thousand 336 photographs from all over Turkey competed, has concluded. The winner of the competition was Akif Çubuk with his photograph titled 'Bostanlı Sahil'.
The theme of the competition organized by İSTON AŞ, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was determined as the time spent by city residents on the benches in the city. 1795 participants from 74 provinces of Turkey participated in the ISTON "Story of the Bench" photography contest with 5 thousand 336 photographs. Photos were evaluated by professional and amateur photographers; İzzet Keribar (Photography Artist - Chairman of the Jury), Merih Akoğul (Photography Artist - Writer), Mustafa Seven (Photography Artist - Writer), Doğan Arslan (Academician - Artist), Dr. Elif İpek Atayman (İBB Affiliates Communication Coordinator - Academician), Fevzi Alp Atar (İSTON General Manager), Dr. It was evaluated by the jury consisting of Emine Hilal Korucu (İSTON Corporate Communications Consultant - Photographer).
In the competition held under the consultancy of the Union of Photographic Art of Türkiye (TFSF); The first prize went to Akif Çubuk with his photograph titled 'Bostanlı Sahil'. İlhan Uzunismail came second with his photograph titled 'Sunset', and Sebahattin Özveren came third with his photograph 'Ferries'. Hasan Uçar was deemed worthy of honorable mention with his photographs titled 'Family Visit', Taşkın Mışe with his photographs titled 'Woman with Slippers', and Togay Erol with his photographs titled 'Train Station'. İSTON special award was given to Seval Oral Nurtan's work titled 'Maiden's Tower'. All 35 works participating in the competition were deemed worthy of exhibition.
As a result of the evaluation, the winner of the competition was awarded 30 thousand TL TFSF Gold Medal, the second winner was awarded 20 thousand TL + TFSF Silver Medal, and the third winner was awarded 15 thousand TL + TFSF Bronze Medal; Each of the 3 works that won the honorable mention will be awarded 10 thousand TL + TFSF Honorable Mention, and the work that won the İSTON special award will be awarded 10 thousand TL. Each of the 35 owners whose photographs are deemed worthy of exhibiting will receive a reward of 1000 TL. Awards and plaques will be presented to the winners of the competition at a ceremony.
