The 12 affiliated companies of IMM broke a record by entering the Fortune 500 Türkiye 2023 list. Ertan Yıldız, Chairman of the Executive Board of IYA A.S., who has served as IMM Presidental Advisor for affiliates for 5 years, stated, "We broke a record in the history of IMM by entering this list with the highest number to date. Additionally, I would like to point out that no other entity has previously entered the Fortune 500 list with 12 group companies. We are extremely happy and proud. The 12 affiliated companies of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), operating in various sectors, set a record by simultaneously entering the Fortune 500 Türkiye list, which identifies the country's largest 500 companies. According to the list based on 2023 net sales revenues, İGDAŞ, KİPTAŞ İSTAÇ A.Ş., İSTON A.Ş., İSPER A.Ş., İSFALT A.Ş., İSTGÜVEN A.Ş., Istanbul Halk Ekmek A.Ş., Istanbul Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş., Istanbul Enerji A.Ş., Metro Istanbul A.Ş., and Kültür A.Ş. were included in the list.

"Since taking office in 2019, we have established new and professional management teams, defined our goals, and set our strategies. We drew up short, medium, and long-term plans, drew a roadmap, and successfully progressed along this path. Today, our affiliated companies are positioned as leaders in their respective sectors, creating value for Istanbul, integrating sustainability into their business processes, managing their financial structures with ethical, transparent, and effective mindset, and continuing their operations successfully with a vision focused on societal benefit, innovative service, and product development. As of 2023, IMM Affiliates, with 76,000 employees and a turnover of 145 billion TL, can be considered the largest company groups in Türkiye, continues to grow and develop with innovative projects every day. Despite economic crises and the negative impacts of the pandemic over the past 5 years, we have maintained a consistent trend of healthy growth. According to the year-end 2023 financial data under Turkish Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS), the total turnover of our 31 affiliated companies was 145 billion TL, the asset size was 162 billion TL and shareholders' equity was 71 billion TL."

ABOUT THE COMPANIES ENTERING THE FORTUNE 500 TÜRKİYE LIST

ISTON Inc.'s turnover in 2023 was 4.2 billion TL. In the process of serving Istanbul, our company fulfils the infrastructure and superstructure needs by providing urban furniture to IMM and pipes to İSKİ for use in infrastructure works. In 2023, ISTON exported urban furniture to a total of 10 countries from Africa to the Balkans, from the Americas to the Middle East, increasing its export figures annually. Its export target for 2024 is 3 million USD. ISTON became the first company in Türkiye to receive the highest level Platinum CSC Certification from the International Concrete Sustainability Council, and has renewed its certification.

İGDAŞ is the largest among our affiliated companies in terms of turnover and its turnover in 2023 is 49.4 billion TL. With an investment of 830 million TL during the year, we ensured uninterrupted and secure service for the people of Istanbul. İGDAŞ serves 7.1 million subscribers and has laid 2.3 million meters of natural gas lines in the past 5 years, extending service to previously inaccessible areas of the city. We have fully paid off all debts inherited from the previous management at BOTAŞ. Additionally, we established the industry's first licensed R&D center and filed 23 intellectual property rights applications.

KİPTAŞ's turnover in 2023 was realised as TL 6.1 billion. In line with its social municipalism approach, KİPTAŞ has focused on social housing projects and urban transformation within the scope of Istanbul Renewal. Despite the adverse market conditions, KİPTAŞ continued its growth and produced a total of 782 independent units in 2023, including 344 social housing units and 438 urban transformation projects. Between August 2019 and March 2024, 19 projects consisting of a total of 11034 independent units were completed and delivered to the rightful owners.

Since March 2024, 2 projects consisting of 177 independent units have been completed and delivered to their rightful owners and a total of 31 projects consisting of 7,859 independent units are actively carried out in the field.

In 2023, the turnover of İSTAÇ Inc. was realised as 9.5 billion TL and made investments totaling 1.2 billion TL. The company generated a total of 1.3 million MW of electricity from waste-to-energy facilities during 2023. İSTAÇ received an "A" score in Environmental Management and a "B" score in Social and Sectoral aspects in the CRIF Türkiye Sustainability Survey, obtaining an overall score of "Good Level of Sustainability."

As for İSFALT Inc. our sales reached 10.3 billion TL by the end of 2023. As a stakeholder in IMM’s 2050 Carbon Neutrality target, combating climate change is one of the prioritised policies of our company. At Cebeci Mines, where İSFALT is a shareholder, the "Cebeci Quarry Restructuring Project" has been implemented for safe and sustainable mining practices. This project aims to environmentally friendly and sustainably utilize the important limestone and sandstone reserves crucial for Istanbul's urban construction sector.

As of December 31, 2023, METRO İSTANBUL Inc. has total assets of 10.3 billion TL, paid-up capital of 400 million TL, and a turnover of 7.1 billion TL. In 2023, we expanded our rail and cable transport network, operating 1,015 vehicles throughout the year to complete a total of 2.1 million trips, covering 121 million kilometers and serving 831 million passengers.

Additionally, our company provides consultancy and advisory services to companies in the rail transport sector in Türkiye and globally. As a result of the competency assessment carried out by the Turkish Quality Association (KalDer) in line with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model, we were awarded the Türkiye Excellence Award for our gender equality, diversity and inclusion best practices and became the first and only rail system operator in the world to receive 6 stars.

In 2023, İSTANBUL ENERJİ Inc. reached a turnover of 7.4 billion TL. Within the scope of its franchise licence, it ranked among the top 5 in Türkiye in terms of sales volume nationwide and among the top 15 companies compared to distribution companies. It generated 256,940 MW of electricity in 2023 through a 37 MW biomass power plant. Additionally, a solar energy production licence was obtained and the facility was given the feature of a hybrid power plant.

İSPER Inc.’s turnover in 2023 was realised as 11.7 billion TL. The number of districts and branches served by the Regional Employment Office has reached 29 as of today, and the number of people who have jobs has reached 200 thousand.

The turnover of İSTGÜVEN Inc. for 2023 reached 4.9 billion TL. Body cameras have started to be used by security personnel in order to record images that can be used for forensic purposes in incidents in which security personnel intervene.

The turnover of Istanbul Ağaç ve Peyzaj Inc. in 2023 was 5.2 billion TL. In addition to maintaining approximately 80 million square meters of green spaces in Istanbul, Istanbul Ağaç ve Peyzaj Inc planted around 54 thousand trees across the city. It adorned our green areas with 42 million seasonal flowers and ground cover plants, 8 million bulbous plants, and over 1.5 million roses and shrubs. In our 11 garden markets, we have reached more than half a million customers. While over 300 thousand sales were realised, we also serve the people of Istanbul with our online sales site www.bahcemarket.com. Halk Ekmek Inc. achieved a turnover of 4.4 billion TL in 2023. The number of buffets was increased to 703 during the year, selling a total of 352 million units of normal bread and wholemeal bread. In order to provide the most affordable bread to our people and to keep bread prices reasonable in the market, we did not reflect the increase in wheat prices to bread prices. Therefore, the company's sales revenue and profitability remained limited. In 2023, the capacity of the Ahmet İsvan factory was increased, leading to higher bread production.

The turnover of Kültür Inc. in 2023 was 3.8 billion TL. Kültür Inc. manages operations for numerous museums and 16 cultural centers, bringing the unique cultural heritage of our city togerher with both Istanbulites and local as well as foreign tourists. In 2023, a total of 3,552,372 participants attended 2,568 events organized by or collaborated with Kültür Inc.
